Had a lovely day today doing absolutely nothing. El Gouna is a very small resort and we are at the southern end overlooking the marina. Took a very colourful bus to 'downtown' which cost all of 50p each for a ticket that lasts all day, as many journeys as you want! Really glad we changed our hotel at the last minute because where we are is much nicer than in downtown. Much more suited to us oldies, although there is absolutely nothing wrong with El Gouna.
It's a real shame that people aren't coming to Egypt because of the troubles in Tahrir Square as the rest if Egypt is fine. Even Cairo is fine if you keep away from the square. We saw the square when we went to the Egyptian museum but you can't get into it, even if you wanted to, because the entrances/exits are barricaded. All you can see is the square covered in the tents of the protesters. We are certainly glad we came.
