Wednesday - today we visited two temples, Luxor and Karnak. Both of them were superb. Karnak is the largest and was built over a 1300 year period!! It's incredible that so much of it remains intact and hard to believe that structures 40 metres high could become buried in the sand. On then to Luxor temple and it is only relatively recently that they have discovered the two temples are connected by an avenue of sphinxes 3 km long. That's an awful lot of sphinxes, and they are still uncovering them. On our way back to the boat we called in at a Perfume 'factory'. Whilst it would be illegal to call any if their perfumes by Western names, No 26 was Chanel No 5, no 35 was Coco Chanel and No 41 was Chanel Allure!
The weather is very hot, which is lovely and John assures me the beer is cold!
